AADA IN A NUTSHELL

The automotive industry has been through some dramatic changes over the last year, many of which have been the result of the GFC while other transformations have come off the back of environmental concerns with climate change being a buzz word that has entered the vocabulary of motorists the world over.

The AADA Convention is an opportunity for Australia’s network of dealers to get together and face these changes by arming themselves with the advice, knowledge and fresh ideas that our internationally recognised experts will share with them.

If you’re a dealer who is struggling with aspects of your used car operation you’ll be hard pushed to find anyone more adept at turning around a flagging used car department than Alan Syer who is a results driven expert in this field.

Predicting the future is a tricky thing, but Justin Smirk who is Chief Economist at St George Bank will reveal his financial forecast for the year ahead and discuss Australia’s economy, providing some valuable insight into the coming months.

Sue Klose from Carsguide.com will be discussing media and consumer trends and showing you how to stay in reach of the target, while Greg Roebuck the CEO of Carsales.com.au will deliver a talk on the digital revolution and how the internet is becoming one of the most important platforms in the auto industry today.

Many dealers will be flocking to this year’s AADA Convention to see the world’s best salesperson in action, Tom Hopkins, who is internationally renowned for his master sales techniques.

Tom has a well documented rise to sales stardom which saw him close 365 house sales in his final year as a real estate agent – that’s one for every day of the year and is a figure that any Australian car sales person could only dream of.

If you find your sales techniques could benefit from some brushing up, this is where you’ll get the help you need.

But it’s not all work at AADA Convention, oh no. This year’s entertainment includes Shane Jacobson who is better known as Kenny, the loveable Aussie bloke who will entertain guests through the Drive.com.au breakfast.

It’s also a fantastic break from the long winter for many dealers and a few days at the excellent RACV Royal Pines Resort in sunny, welcoming Queensland.

We’ll be covering the Convention live over the next week in this blog so make sure to follow us and check in to catch up on all the action.
